WELCOME TO THE WEB DESIGN + BRANDING BLOG FROM ARTISAN KIND
Publishing your first blog can feel daunting. I put off starting mine for longer than I’d like to admit simply because I didn’t know where to begin. But once you understand the structure and see how simple the process can be, everything clicks into place. After two or three posts, blogging starts to feel like second nature.
And here’s why it’s worth it. Blogging is one of the simplest, most impactful things you can do for your SEO (search engine optimization). Search engines love fresh, relevant content, and a blog gives you a natural way to show up in the topics your clients are searching for. But even more importantly, blogging is a beautiful way to serve people long before, during, and after they work with you. It builds trust with potential clients, deepens support for current clients, and allows past clients to continue feeling connected to your expertise long after your project ends.
If you’re one of my clients, you’ll also have my support during your Showit Tour after your website launches. I walk you through exactly how to post your blog, and you’ll receive a recorded video tutorial you can revisit anytime you need a step-by-step refresher. But before we get to that part, you need one thing: your first blog post.
A strong blog post doesn’t come from being long or complicated. It comes from clarity. Here’s a structure you can follow for almost any topic. Think of it as a template you can adapt to your voice and your message. Once you have your idea (and if you need inspiration, this guide will help), this structure will help you bring it to life with ease.

This is where you set the tone. A good introduction does one or more of these things:
• Acknowledge the reader’s problem, curiosity, or interest
• Share a personal story or moment that inspired the post
• Explain what the reader will walk away with
Aim for two to four sentences. Your goal is to help the reader feel seen and welcome.
This is the heart of your blog and will usually be the longest part. Break it into smaller pieces using subheadings so it’s easier to read. You may include:
• Steps or a process the reader can follow
• Key concepts or ideas you want to teach
• Tips, advice, or perspective
• Examples that make your point clearer
Subheadings allow your reader to skim and understand your message at a glance.
You don’t need these in every blog, but they add depth when they’re useful. You might include:
• A short story or example
• A client scenario or real-world application
• A list of helpful tools or resources
• Common mistakes to avoid
These elements help bring the topic to life and connect the ideas to something tangible.
Close your blog with intention. You might:
Your closing doesn’t need to be long, it just needs to feel like a natural, supportive conclusion.
This part comes last for a reason. Once you write your blog, the title usually becomes obvious. It’s often hiding right in the message you’ve just written.
A few guidelines as you choose:
If your finished title helps the reader think, “Oh yes, I need to read this,” you’re on the right track.
Writing a blog is really just guiding someone through an idea with clarity and care. Once you have your structure, the rest begins to flow. And with every post you write, your confidence grows and your voice becomes even more distinct.
If you’re ready for the next step, the images you choose play a meaningful role in how polished and professional your blog feels. When you’re ready, you can read my guide on how to prep blog images in minutes. It walks you through choosing the right photo, creating a Pinterest graphic, and getting everything ready for your Showit Tour.
And if you’re a client of mine, I’ll walk you through exactly how to post your blog during your Showit Tour. You’ll also receive a recorded step-by-step tutorial so you always have support to return to anytime you need it.
If this feels like the kind of support you’re looking for, I invite you to book a discovery call with me.
